I Just Am

From Salt Institute for Documentary Studies | 07:07

Musicians often have trademarks. Elvis had a snarl, Michael Jackson had a glove, and Bret Michaels has bandanas. For Dan Knudsen, it’s a fanny pack. The Portland, ME musician is not your typical rock star. He’ll likely never grace the cover of Rolling Stone or be seen on MTV, but locally, Dan’s a bit of a legend.

Mmelvin_f10_pe_001-2_small Dan Knudsen is a Portland, Maine musician who has gained a lot of popularity in the local music scene, but he is far from your typical rock star. Dan is an outsider musican who often sings off-key and about science fiction. His unique sound has resulted in not only a devoted following, but also a tribute album by other local acts. Joanna Zwanger introduces him to us.
