Review of For Kindred Spirits

I really enjoyed this program. It was way too short. It is an amazing program, very interesting and uplifting. One doesn't have to be an animal lover to appreciate the stories, but I think it helps. If I could hear it on local NPR stations I would certainly make every effort to catch it or tape it if possible. Thanks for allowing me to hear this wonderful program.

Review of For Kindred Spirits

Someone suggested that as an animal lover, I listen this show. It is amazing, both in terms of content and production. The transitions are masterful, and the show takes music bridges to an astounding new level. This program made me chuckle and made me cry. I hope stations will offer this show to their listeners. There is a huge market for a series like this, without question. A remarkable concept, an important subject, and a creative and powerful use of radio.

Review of For Kindred Spirits

What a very lovely compilation of stories about animals, feeling and being connected in this world. We hear about everything from elephants to porcupines, along with lots of cat and dog tales, of course. We love our pets, yes, but this program encourages us to embrace, or at least respect a wider circle of life. The opening moments remind us that our ancestors felt respectful kinship with all of creation -- rocks, plants, insects, fish, birds, mammals considered as full of living spirit as two-legged beings. That's a fine thing to remember.

Though many of the stories were phoned in to the Kindred Spirits program, the quality is bearable and the insights and comments will move and amuse even the most hard-hearted of souls. To me, some of the music was just right, but certain choices came across as distractingly sappy. The stories stand strong with no need for emotion-tugging music. Refreshing, restorative, and recommended as something different from the usual fare. Would be great for a Sunday, or any evening.

Review of For Kindred Spirits

This is a wonderful, much needed program which reaches to the spiritual connection between we humans and all species on this planet, from insects to elephants.

I absolutely loved the music, story presentations, and commentaries by animal communicators.

I pray that this program finds sponsors and continues.

Review of For Kindred Spirits

This is wonderful! A program that recognizes the special place that we have in our hearts---in our souls for animals, all kinds of animals. The stories you hear are genuine and heartfelt without the syrupy setimental treatment you get on so many, so called news shows. I especially like the diversity , stories about elephants and house cats, scenes set in the wild and in your own back yard.
There are so many great memoirs about our pets and our animal friends...an now here comes a show that gives us a chance to tell our tale and hear so many others. Bravo! Let's hear more of this.

Review of For Kindred Spirits

This amazingly original radio show is not just for people who like animals. I listened because I am a nature lover, and got way more than I ever dreamed! The program is deeply moving on so many levels ? mind, heart and spirit - and the show does this on many levels ? with music and stories and sounds. Not every story or thought expressed will resonate with every person, but any person listening will be transported ? from adults, to teens, to kids - from all walks of life, regions of the country, and regardless of their belief system. For Kindred Spirits is a transformative experience and sounds like the future of what radio should be. It teaches and opens our eyes to the real world without militancy. It?s the very opposite of passive, dull-the-feelings, or pandering to cheap sentiments, or reinforcing of clich?s that are found in most programming in all media. We all need more of For Kindred Spirits.

This beautiful show will stick with anyone who hears it. The perfect music complimented amazing and touching stories. Homer the cat made me cry, and Sammy the cat made me laugh. I wish I could hear more of this show. There is so much more to learn about animals, and we have so much to learn about not taking them for granted. Listening to other people's stories about their animals, or animals they encounter, is something we all need more of!
