Review of Hank Ballard; Blues In The First Person (deleted)
The facinating story of a classic American song. It shows how complicated the music industry can be. It's got a lot of the music and an interview with the artist. This piece would be great to put in the mix with an old R & B, or soul music show.
While this piece might be slightly out of date, it still has some great insight into the new age we live in and how people are working against the tide of blind patriotism. The music can feel a bit distracting at points and slightly over-the-top. WARNING there are a few words used in this piece at the FCC does not like.
This is a fantastic sound art piece. Finding a number of these sound as music pieces and stringing them together could make a great show which contemplates how our society regards sounds of all types.
While this piece is very sound rich--at points even sightly gross--I seems to lack much real material. The subject is interesting, and the piece could be better with more explaination of what is going on.
This piece gives a good snapshot of an everyday life. While it doesn't go into great detail, or have any really moral to learn, it does give some great insights into what it is to be a food server in America. It gives some gems of insight into a world which, as consumer, we often forget about.
