These Conversations along with their musical interludes are a free-flowing exploration of the repertoire of Jewish festivals.

"What Is Judaism?" is an exploration of the essential nature of Judaism, its beliefs, history, rituals and culture. The programs take the form of a conversation
between Host Larry Josephson, a secular Jew with little knowledge of the religion of his grandparents, and Rabbi Ismar Schorsch, Chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary. As a direct result of these conversations, Larry has joined a synagogue for the first time since his Bar Mitzvah.

The four-part series includes hour-long programs on Shabbat, Passover, Hanukkah and the High Holy Days.
