Covering a wide spectrum of genres and styles, Pioneers of Texas Music is designed to showcase the great voices of Big Mama Thornton and Janis Joplin; iconic blues-men including Freddy King and Albert Collins; songwriters and story-tellers from Ernest Tubb to Lefty Frizzell; and of course, the legendary Western Swing of Bob Wills and his many successors, like Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel.
