The Stream is a series at the intersection of documentary, new media, and social change. You will hear stories about how art and technology are transforming global communities -- from using mobile phones to fight polio in Calcutta, to forensic memory data indicting war criminals in Guatemala, to interactive story maps bridging information gaps in the Gulf. The series will feature probing interviews with the some of the best documentary filmmakers working today, looking at how they are joining with visionary technologists and community leaders to create collaborative, innovative tools for change.

The Stream, produced by the Bay Area Video Coalition, is underwritten with funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

The Producers Institute for New Media Technologies at the Bay Area Video Coalition - from which content for The Stream is derived - is generously funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation with additional support from the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Adobe Foundation as well as industry partners.
