Legacies
From Wind & Rhythm | 59:29
We owe a great debt to those who come before us in any new endeavor. Through their trials, hard work, and experimentation, they help lay a solid foundation for all those who follow. This week on Wind & Rhythm we take a look at the beginnings of the wind band movement with one of the first wind bands in existence, the Eastman Wind Ensemble.

E160: Smooth Sounds
Who knows what would have happened if my best friend hadn’t switched from trumpet to baritone. Our show might never have happened. It gave me the chance to hold first chair on the trumpet while he excelled on the baritone. He played this solo as well as you here it in the intro to our show this week on Wind and Rhythm. Because of his skill, I’ve been around baritone and euphonium players all of my musical career and I can tell you, there is nothing I like to hear more.
