Charles Spira assembles and narrates this wonderful collage of French music. I understand not a bit of French, but he brings the mood and soul of the music in his commentary and history.
Bonjour Chanson came off my radar for a time; it's back on!!
Once again, Charles has brought something new to those of us who never listened to French popular music before his program.
This interview introduces us to one of the major influences in French popular music in a manner that is entertaining, interesting, educational and a joy to listen to.
Though I do not speak French, I truly enjoyed this series. Of particular note are the informative, insightful introductions by Charles Spira. His voice and language are perfect for this content. The mixing is perfect.
You'll be tapping in time to the music!

I didn't think I could appreciate French popular music until I listened to Charles Spira's selections.
His introductions provided a basic background to each song. His selections were varied, interesting and very listen-able!
I hope some stations pick up this show. It should develop a loyal audience.
