Discover the magic of the reference desk

Ask the Librarian is a series devoted to the notion that there are answers to many perplexing questions -- it's just a matter of knowing where (and how) to look. We've all tried doing this at home, but some things are really better left in the hands of a professional.

From the major libraries of great cities to the local branch right down the street, reference librarians are wonderful people, imaginative resources, and terrific guides in the world of knowledge.

As the series progresses, we plan to open up the lines for listener questions -- even as we remind them that they've got their own reference librarians right at the other end of the phone.

The stories will be 3:30 in length.
